Top quality heavy wool vintage dress and jacket of taupe and grey in a classic style. The dress has a smart fitted bodice, short sleeves and darted, in heather taupe. The waistband is wide and trimmed on top and bottom with grey piping. The skirt is an aline style. The dress zips up the back and is completely lined as the jacket. It has two front inseam pockets.
The jacket is sort of boxy, typical of mid to late 1960's styles. It is very well made with a chain weight, similar to Chanel, and it is lined in what feels like parachute silk. There are no shoulder pads, and the sleeves are a normal length. The front closes with 2 french buttonholes and covered buttons. This is top quality workmanship!
Excellent condition overall, but I did find a smattering of moth holes after dry cleaning along the hem. Hemming 1 1/2" would solve it. There are also 2 tiny holes in the skirt, on the back lower quarter.
The label is from Dayton's Oval Room. This high end ladies dept. store was in Minnesota.
