Here is a vintage 1940s dress I love-- a long, lean, vintage papaya coloured linen dress by L'Aiglon. It is a straight, lean style with great details, such as the open-work on the square breast and pencil skirt pockets. It has plastic ball buttons closing the front and a matching belt. The collar also gives the era away. This vintage day dress is pure understated elegance, something I could see Lauren Bacall wearing in the 1940s.
Makes me think of some of the rich, lovely, vintage movies of late such as " The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Pie Society" and " Breathe"- breathtaking vintage costuming!
